The text reads, in part: “Sir, The dinner to which you are a subscriber, will take place at Mansion House, on Thursday, 4th of April, at 5 o’clock P.M…. Committee of Arrangement.” This copy of the invitation is addressed, in manuscript, to Dr. M.H. Coates. The other signers of the invitation are J. Randolph, Thomas Harris, C.D. Meigs, Robley Dunglison, John Bell, William Rush, R.M. Huston, Francis West, Jr., James A. M’Crea, George Fox, J.B. Biddle, George W. Morris, Robert Morris, T.F. Betton, and J.M. Wallace.
